Today is the first day of 2017.
With every new year we reflect on what has transpired last year and keep a hopeful mind and heart to the one ahead.
It’s easy to focus on the bad things that the previous year had brought. But there are also so many wonderful things that happen too.
Here are 16 good things that we remember:
16. People Spread Love has been in operation for one year.
15. We held 69 public events in 2016.
14. We have given “free hugs” on Jackson Hole’s Town Square and at the base of Snow King Mountain during public farmer’s markets multiple times in Summer 2016.
13. We have shown gratitude to our snow plow drivers in Jackson Hole at 2 am with free donuts, coffee and gratitude signs.
12. We have shown gratitude to our postal workers at USPS around the holidays and randomly in the summer time.
11. We have shown gratitude to our grocery store workers by leaving random notes of gratitude on shelves and checkout counters.
10. We left “Heart Reminders” behind for people to find to remind them that they are loved and that they matter.
9. We are now fulfilling “videos of love” for those on our love list. We compile short clips from volunteers across the country and edit them together as one special video for that person.
8. We organized community members and their beloved pets to hold signs that say “All you need is love” on Jackson Hole’s Town Square.
7. We collaborated with Letter Earthlings in India and Singapore to send notes of love to Yinexa in Puerto Rico.
6. On Election Day we showed up with a bowl of candy and little notes of love to put a smile on people’s faces.

We have several Love Ambassadors and other volunteers across the country spreading love in their communities.
4. Our youngest love recipient is 6 years old.
3. Our oldest love recipient is 100 years old.
2. We have spread notes of love to Italy and Puerto Rico.
1. We have spread notes of love to 34 states across the United States.
