Angela Burton Introduces “Altered Books of Love”

Who is Angela Burton?

Angela Burton

Angela Burton, an illustrator and graphic designer, has been in Jackson Hole since 1984.  She came for 2 weeks and never left!  In 1985, she started her own ad agency, Burton Design. Her true love is illustration, art and creating.  “I love to draw!”  Her favorite medium is pen & ink, mixed up with colored pencil & watercolor.  You can see some of her work at www.instagram.com/aburton.jh/

“I so greatly appreciated the cards, notes and positive thoughts given to me from friends and family at that time (her fight with cancer).  I am happy that I can give back!”

Angela can relate to the need for positive vibes and energy extended to folks in need, young & old, who are going through a rough patch in their lives.  Two years ago, Angela had breast cancer – surgery, chemo & radiation.  Fortunately she is now cancer-free.

What are Altered Books?

Simply put, an altered book is an art object that has been created from an existing, printed book. The book is altered through whatever means and media the artist chooses. This generally means using the book’s pages as a canvas on which to apply paint, collage or rubber stamping.

We thought that “Altered Books of Love” would be a great way to integrate this permanance of intention of love and kindness manifest into a book.
