I truly believe that love conquers hate.
I just know it to be true in my gut. In my soul.
What’s strikingly harsh is how we are inundated with hatred and violence. The intake is in our movies and more now so television shows (especially streamed shows), the daily news, social media is a huge outlet that has been an echo-chamber of hate speech and extremism. Groups that facilitate hatred in the hearts of many is very frightening.
There is a desire to feel a sense of community but I caution anyone that believe that you can feel a true sense of community when you are pointing blame on another group unlike yourself. It’s extreme to think that “you and your people” have it right and everyone else has it terribly “wrong.” How do we know that to be true? Read, learn, ask if you don’t know. Rather than judging externally to every other group you don’t associate with as your own.
I challenge you to help me (us) to come up with the alternative to hate. Let’s gather together in love and appreciation for our neighbors rather than hatred and disdain. It’s exhausting to blame others for everything that is wrong in the world. I challenge my brothers and sisters of all races, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, creed, religion to look inside yourselves to next steps into a universal love for our “enemies” that we are
