I am still super old school – I am a sucker for little notebooks. I have a few floating around in my purse at all times. The purpose of one said notebook is to write down what I am truly grateful for on a daily basis. Here is what I do.. I write the date and then fill in what I’m grateful for on that given day..
.. granted some of what I write down is about good food but also good friends and good moments. Typically we aren’t taught to write down things we are thankful for except maybe around the holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. But I try to make this a ritual of thanksgiving everyday.
I have so much to be thankful for that sometimes its just too overwhelming (in a good way). It’s incredible how “complainy” we can all be when we don’t take time to really appreciate what we have. I’m not saying that I don’t complain but I also try to take time out of my day to recognize the good before focusing on the bad.
Showing gratitude for the big and little things out of life will only make the difficult days less difficult.
