People Spread Love has been in operation since October 23, 2015 when I introduced the idea to Teton Valley at their Systems of Care meeting in Driggs, Idaho. I was overcome with the positive response I received. As soon as I left that meeting I knew that something had to be done to put the wheels in motion.
In just two days I put the website up (I’m a web designer so that came easy). Early November ‘word-of-mouth’ began and it took off. My husband and I went away to Baja for our honeymoon and returned having received numerous “love requests” right on our website. Early December we had our first event at Intencions. The turn out was surprising and beautiful, we were surrounded by loving volunteers. The first month we sent out love to 7 different states in the USA.
Now at 2.5 months we have reached 19 states in the USA. We have numerous “Love Ambassadors” taking it upon themselves to organize these events in their communities; Washington, DC, Arkansas, New York, Virginia, Ohio, Idaho and the interest grows. Some of them received a love bundle of their own and were touched by this act; having a desire to pay it forward.
We are working on our non-profit status and hoping to participate in The Community Foundation of Jackson Hole’s Old Bill’s Fun Run with the support of a fiscal sponsor.
In the meantime, we have several ‘Meet & Makes’ monthly at different locations (businesses/organizations) to broaden our reach in our communities in order to fulfill the love requested on our website.
We are so much love and gratitude in our hearts for the people that make People Spread Love possible. This dream of putting love back into our communities is now a reality. So, thank you!
