“Notes of Love to the Planet”

People Spread Love’s Sustainability Promise

For the past ten years the organization has practiced sustainability without a formal declaration or imperative; it is in our DNA. “Notes of Love to the Planet” is a dedicated campaign spotlighting the importance of a more sustainable community and encouraging volunteers and participants like you to join in our effort.  We will continue to make conscious steps to source recyclable paper, utilize repurposed materials, and work with community partners to help sustain our initiatives. These efforts will include in-kind donations at events, at our dropbox workstations, in-classrooms, and within our starter kits distributed each year.

  1. Recycled and repurposed paper discontinuation of glossy paper
  2. Volunteer work from home
  3. Virtual “in-office” meetings
  4. Encourage use of upcycled items
  5. Source from environmentally friendly companies
  6. Encourage carpooling or bike/walk to public events
  7. Implement QR codes to cut paper waste
  8. Provide digital resources for volunteers

💌Sustainability Steps you can take when volunteering

  1. Reuse old greeting cards lying around, they make for a great way to rejuvenate and elongate a design and or a kind salutation.
  2. Use scrap paper by collaging, cutting and arranging a unique design for your card design.
    • Newspaper
    • Different color construction paper
    • Patterned paper
    • Wrapping paper
    • Fabric
    • Paper bags
  3. Use a beautiful coloring page to make a note of love – paste a white piece of paper on the backside (if another coloring page is present) to write a personalized message there.
  4. Altered books is another wonderful way to spread love & kindness. Our collaborative artist, Angela Burton helps explain how easy it is.
  5. Source materials from: Facebook Marketplace and thrift stores are great ways to find older cards unused.
Supplies to make this so easy:
  • Paper cutter
  • ✂️Scissors
  • Stencils (letters, numbers, shapes)
  • Glue (glue stick or Elmer’s glue)
  • Rubber stamps & ink
