A “meet and make” is exactly what it sounds like, you meet and you make! 🙂
First off, there are no rules. You can’t ever organize something like this wrong, but here are some cool pointers to keep in mind.
Prior to scheduling out a “meet and make” we will insure you have the “love request” submission(s) in hand. Identifying with what that person needs is important when calling all troops. It’s great to give some direction prior to the volunteers arrival.
So the key things to think about when hosting/organizing one of these is:
1. Pick a date & time: We want to make sure it fits with your schedule first and foremost.
2. Where will you host: It’s completely up to you if you’d like to open your home, your place of business or community center to everyone or just your close buds. Either way, it’s pretty cool!
3. What supplies are on hand: This can go both ways, you can either make your cards from scratch or ask those that want to join to pick up an appropriate greeting card for them to sign. Also, consider having some snacks, when people are getting creative it’s nice to have some munchies.
4. Some cool ideas: It’s important to review the “love request” prior to the “meet and make” so you can bounce some cool ideas off one another and folks can bring things to help inspire the meeting.
For example, if someone needs words of encouragement, maybe research some inspiring quotes or if you wanted to share a specific story that was personal to you.
5. Spread the word: What makes People Spread Love work is the people. Whether we get through to them by word of mouth, social media or e-mail this is an important part of getting our community together. Let us let people in our community know what we are doing so we can make a real impact.
6. Collect all cards: After the “meet and make” is completed, the host will collect all the contributions to the “love request” and schedule a time for us to pick them up.
OR
We have a “Love Slip”
you can download, print, cut, fill-out and include in your bundle.
Sending them all together has a nice impact but sending them
individually is also great too.
Feel free to use the following return address:
People Spread Love

7. Spread the love: This is where the magic happens. We will mail out or drop off (based on the directions of the “love request” submission) to the love recipient.
If for some reason the people you invite can’t make the “meet and make” – the beauty is with a little bit of effort they can still fulfill the “love request” on their own time. Even if that’s at home crafting with their family or picking up a card from the grocery store, it’s all important and still promotes the love in your community.
